Applying eye makeup for an older woman who has developed a few wrinkles around the eyes can sometimes be difficult, if not disheartening, especially if she is trying to achieve the youthful look she once had. Eyes that come across too young-looking on an older woman are just going to make her appear as just that: an older woman trying desperately to look young. However, there are some subtle things an older woman can do with her eye makeup to make herself appear a few years younger.
The following tips will help
1. Women over 50 usually have sparse eyebrows. If this is the case, fill in the eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil that is a shade darker than the color of the eyebrows. Eyebrows give a youthful appearance to the face, so you want them to stand out a little.
3. Always choose eye shadow which compliments your eye colour and your skin. Buy 2 shades of the eye shadow you choose to buy. One of which is a little lighter and another which is a little darker. Apply the lighter shade on your eye lid up to the brow bone. Apply the darker shade above the fold of your eye up to the brow bone. Then blend the two shades lightly using a brush.
4. It is better to use an eyeliner pencil instead of a liquid one, because eye pencils give a softer look, whereas liquid liners look harsh on ageing eyes. Smudging the pencil line slightly with your fingers will make the look even softer.
