Foods to Avoid While on a Diet

If you are dieting, beware of some foods that can secretly increase the calorie intake without your knowledge. If you are not careful and knowledgeable enough and continue eating these foods even in small portions, you can continue putting on weight. Let’s discuss about 10 foods to avoid while dieting:

White Rice. White rice is extremely refined and is rated as a high glycemic carbohydrate which fairly rapidly breaks down into glucose. High glycemic carbs stimulate the appetite, thus making you more hungry. Switch to brown or basmati rice which is a low glycemic carb and as with pasta, mix with high fiber vegetables to cut back on calories and fill you up more.

Bagels.  A single small bagel yields approximetely 40 grams of carbs and a large one can yield up to 75 grams. Though bagels are low in fat, their high carb content is something to consider when you are trying to limit carbs. For alternatives, try rye bread and oatmeal bread which are both the lowest glycemic breads, which means they stay with you longer and don’t leave you feeling hungry.Foods to Avoid While on a Diet2 Foods to Avoid While on a DietMeat. Fast foods. another infamous food that can easily invalidate the dieting process you are on. Almost all fast food or shall we call ‘convenient food’ are full of trans-fats and saturated fatty acids. As we consume them, they are broken down into cholesterol and glucose by several complex physiological processes in the liver. These products again transform the glucose and lipids to fat only to be stored in the liver, beneath the skin and other organs. Ultimately, you land up with increase in your weight.
