You also can apply beet root juice to naturally add pink pigmentation to your lips. Or, apply natural lemon juice to dark lips to lighten them.
Avoid using any lip balms with phenol, lanolin, parabens and anything with a fragrance. No botanicals either. People can be allergic to many ingredients- even those from plants. Phenol is often used in lip balm. It feels soothing when you first put it on but it can be irritating and cause the skin under the lips to peel.
Drink more water. Dry, chapped lips and skin could indicated that your body is dehydrated. Water is essential in keeping our bodies hydrated. Try to drink about six to eight glasses of water each day to keep your body properly hydrated.
Eat your veggies. Vitamin deficiencies may also cause chapped lips. Incorporating more fresh vegetable and fruits into your diet is a great way to maintain a healthy body. If you can’t add more vegetables and fruits to your diet, vitamin supplements are also an option. But, always consult your physician before taking any vitamins or medications.
