How to Use Rosewater

Rosewater is a by-product created through the production of rose oil and is often used to make perfume and skin care products. You can make your own rosewater or purchase bottled rosewater in specialty or gourmet food stores and create a wide variety of all natural, healing skin care products. A pleasant aroma and natural healing qualities, rosewater can be used in a variety of ways.

Soak a cotton ball in rosewater and then apply it to your face. This not only cleanses the face but, open pores and refreshes the skin.

Add few drops of rosewater to face packs to moisturize the skin. Few face packs become more useful for skin after adding rosewater.

Multani mitti (Fuller’s earth) is one of the best face packs to get a clear and glowing skin. Add few drops of rosewater to your face pack and apply it on your face and neck.

Add five drops of jasmine to a quarter cup of rosewater for a light and refreshing perfume. Store your perfume in a dark glass bottle with a tight-fitting lid and enjoy daily.

Use rosewater with oranges. Rosewater and oranges create a superb partnership. Each one complements the other well. Some ideas include:
1. Rosewater baklava.
2. Rosewater meringues.
3. Sprinkle segments of orange with a few drops of rosewater. Add a dusting of fine sugar and serve chilled.
4. Crepes with orange slices and rosewater.

Add rosewater to sorbets. Sorbets are an ideal medium for the addition of rosewater; consider combining in sorbets with citrus tones, refreshing apple or berry fruits.
