Day makeup
When you make up your eyes, you add colour and emphasis to the most fascinating part of your face. It’s a thrilling discovery — try it!
All eye make-up begins with a light covering of base over the eye area and finishes with a cotton bud to blend strong colours to subtle shades before mascara goes on.
LEFT: First a grey pencil is used to draw a soft line along the lower lids and on the inner corner of the upper lids. A beige-pink shadow goes along the inner half of the lid, around under the inner eye corners and along the brow bone. A soft line of grey shadow is drawn from the inner socket line to the brow beginning. It also colours the outer corners up to the end of the brow.
RIGHT: The natural eye is coloured with a soft brown along the lid, very close to the lashes; it also extends under the lower lashes to the centre of the lower lid. A speck of white highlighter goes on to the centre of the lid before mascara is applied.
LEFT: This green eye is first outlined in black kohl, along insides of eye rims (both top and bottom). White high-lighter goes on to brow bone before forest-green colours the lids and the inner corner of eyes on lower lid. Smoke-green shadow goes on to the socket line. Smoke-green also follows under lower outside lashes.
RIGHT: The all-brown eye is coloured in creamy highlighter in the brow area. Under the lower lashes draw a line of brown pencil. Earth brown then follows the lid and the socket line, going on more heavily at the outer corners. Apply a dot of white highlighter on to the centre of the eye lid.
FACING PAGE: Soft and sultry is the eye for day. The theme is play it down. But at night the mood changes…
